Outgames 2006 - Choral Festival - Final Concert

Dans le cadre des Outgames 2006 qui se tiendront à Montréal à compter du 29 juillet prochain, ne manquez pas le Festival des Chorales qui s'inscrit dans le volet culturel de cet évènement.
À l'invitation du chef John Dawkins de France, SONIA SASSEVILLE sera du festival pour interpréter avec le Rainbow Symphony Orchestra ainsi que le choeur Mélo'men de Paris, l'opus 53, Alto Rhapsody de Johannes Brahms.
Cette oeuvre pour contralto, choeur de voix d'hommes et orchestre utilise trois strophes d'un poème de Goethe, "Voyage hivernal dans le massif du Harz". Brahms l'écrivit en 1869. Le poème décrit la mélancolie que ressent un jeune homme à la lecture des "Souffrances du jeune Werther". Brahms y dépeint musicalement l'errance du jeune homme dans un paysage hivernal désolé où rien ne parvient à apaiser sa douleur. Puis, dans la dernière strophe, le poète implore Dieu de faire découvrir au malheureux le réconfort que peut lui apporter la miséricorde divine.
